Corn on the Cob

Today we left Saint Louis at 9:00 AM, arrived in Sioux Falls at 9:00 PM, and saw corn in between. While the cat was asleep, we crossed the Mississippi River once and the Missouri three times. Bedtime now. Canada tomorrow.

How tall was the corn?

good color, like good rains?

they have had a cool summer, so I wondered how the crop was doing...

The corn seemed a bit stunted -- at least compared to what Grandpa James used to grow. If anything, the problem here has probably been too much rain this year (but I'm no corn farmer, so take that for what it's worth). In any case, the low spots were bare from being inundated.

So, it wasn't "as high as an elephant's eye by the 4th of July" I am guessing.

Drive safe.

Wow, I hope you guys are stopping to stretch often. I can't imagine this trip. Have you resorted to singing in rounds yet. Here we go. Bob, you go 1st.
Row, row, row your boat,,,gently down the stream.

Let us know how that works out :O)

The most I've laughed on a trip was last December going to my grandmother's funeral in Florida. My mother let my dad borrow her MP3 and he would burst out singing and then stop and then sing another line. We were laughing so hard - we finally had to take it away from him because it was becoming a hazard. Good times.
