I've never been a connoisseur of modern art, but this piece speaks to me.
Its elegant naïveté tantalizes one with a myriad of interpretive possibilities. Blurred flesh tones symbolize human passions, often torrid yet unfocused. Ethereal light (as if from crystalline heaven) and darkness (as if from the infernal pit), each competing for the viewer's attention, are ironically inverted -- the light rising from the nether world and darkness descending from on high. More subtly, the light-darkness motif plays out on the horizontal plane -- perhaps as an homage to the political struggle that grips us these days -- the Right appropriately portrayed as the "dark side" (a.k.a., the Sith Lord "Darth Cheney").
You are no doubt pondering what genius mind conceived this objet d'art. Therein is the ultimate irony. The photographer is a mere child, a prodigy not yet 21 months old.

Nasal overtones in a unique self-portrait given ambiance nay tonsils?
Indeed, a very likely self-portrait.
teddy bear or teddy pig?
still guessing---its a mystery
... a mystery that merely underscores her avant-garde genius.
Hey, it's the same color as my goldfish! Do you have a goldfish, too?
Oh My! The prodigy has such flair! Such an eye! Two of them!
I LOVE this post!!
You and that Joyce lady have a wonderful week.
a true Kodak moment
She actually captured both of her parents in a shot. I think she has a future in family portraits.
Judging from the photos we developed, she managed to get the camera turned forward about half the time. But even among those less introspective photos, there were real shades of Andy Worhohl.
Andy Worhohl? before my time.
Wiki says its spelled Warhol.
Interesting perspective.
Bag Blog--
The time has come for me to confess that Joyce came up with the idea of sending two cameras to Andy with instructions to give one of them to Abbie (our granddaughter). I did marry well.
Joyceeee--
What's Wikipedia know? Surely you don't doubt your husband.
Good Grief, that is GREAT. I love the little people...
