Day of Infamy

I just received an email update from the Obama campaign that begins:

Remember this date: Saturday, June 6th, 2009. We will look back on that day as the moment when the fight for real health care reform began in your neighborhood -- perhaps even in your own living room.

On June 6th, in thousands of homes across the country, we'll gather to launch our grassroots campaign for health care. We'll watch a special message from the President. We'll build the teams and draw up the plans for winning health care reform the same way we won the election: Building support one block, one neighbor, one conversation at a time. And we'll put those plans into action.

These kickoffs are so crucial that President Obama will join confirmed hosts and attendees on a live conference call.

Personally, I just don't see June 6th ever becoming a memorable date. Maybe they ought to wait until December 7th.

Our wedding anniversary is the same as the Battle of Midway. He swears this was in no way engineered by him as a memory device. I remain skeptical.

I am guessing that there is no depth to which these statists will not sink.

I will be driving to Farmington, NM on June 6th in order to conduct Disaster Relief Chaplain training, but you can be certain that I will spend time reflecting upon the sacrifices made that day in 1944 and thanking God that we still have those who will stand in the breech against evil.

Jerry--
But if Obama succeeds the government will give us all free health care!

Leeann--
Joyce once pointed out that our anniversary falls on a memorable day.

I said, "Sure, it's my Dad's birthday."

She answered, "April 1st is also famous for another reason."

I of course answered, "Do tell!"

Thanks for providing the links to REAL memorable dates. How is it that this country loses sight of these so easily?

Good Lord. This just confirms the fact The One and his acolytes are both clue-free and tone deaf, in the extreme. I'm rapidly reaching the point where nothing these asshats do surprises me.

Hey Bob it's memorable to my brother Buck. It's his birfday.

Oh hey where are your grandbaby pictures? Come on...Let me see them.

Gladys--
Called my bluff on the grandchild thing. Honest, Joyce's computer crashed just a couple of days ago and we're trying to recover the pictures. I'll post one of Abby practicing for her flower girl debut just as soon as I can.

And how lucky Buck is to have been born on the very day the Prez launches his campaign to nationalize the health care industry.

Buck--
My thoughts precisely.

Mrs JP--
Lord God of Hosts be with us yet...
