I'm sure you've all heard that Politico.com reported on the founder of Jews for Jesus' speech at Sarah Palin's church:
"Brickner also described terrorist attacks on Israelis as God's 'judgment of unbelief' of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity."
NBC's coverage of the Republican National Convention even featured leftist pundit Rachel Maddow citing this as fact:
Maddow: Jews for Jesus founder [was] speaking at her church while she was there two weeks ago making incredibly, incredibly out of line comments about Israel and Jewish people. Saying that's why Israel was subject to terrorist attacks. It was God's judgment for not believing in Christ.
Matthews: What's the source?
Maddow: Politico.com
It's a sad state of affairs when the mainstream media feels no obligation to confirm their facts or to correct their erroneous reports. Of course, NBC News (as CBS News did four years ago when it used fraudulent documents to attack President Bush) is in deep denial about its once again being suckered by the lunatic left. Of course, the media's defense is simply to claim that they're reporting what people think. It matters not what David Brickner actually said during that sermon, it matters only what some leftists think he meant.
I've just finished listening to David Brickner's complete message ("The Jerusalem Dilemma") from that Sunday morning (August 17th, 2008) service at Wasilla Bible Church, and unsurprisingly I've found that he did not say what Politico.com has reported.
It may come as a surprise to Politico.com (and its accomplices/dupes in the media), but a letter from the insurance company reminding a homeowner to renew his policy is not a threat to torch his house -- and David Brickner's message praising Jesus as the only hope for Israel and all mankind did not call for God to smite His Chosen People.
If you'd like to check this out for yourself, here's the complete transcript of David Brickner's message to Wasilla Bible Church.
David Brickner's own commentary on this malicious attack can be found here.

You mean that liberals "embellish" and might actually tell lies? Who would have thought it?
The Wall Street Journal has an interesting article today: The Triumph of Culture over Politics (pg. W1), by Lee Siegel, where liberalism is defined as politics and conservatism is defined as culture. Siegel makes the point that conservatives have an edge this fall due to the fact that liberals don't really understand what it is to be American, they ignore American culture.
